Remember this post? Ya, I posted it last year when my son was still in Primary 5. And this post also related.

Last Thursday, we attended their 'Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang 2009'. That day itself, their UPSR result came out. I was shocked and couldn't believe it when the teachers approached and congratulated me. They told me my son scored straight A's. I didn't want to believe it. Not until I see the slip. Unfortunately, the result slips were still with another teacher who went and took them at the Education Department. [I only get the slip yesterday morning at his school]

My son, during his days in Primary 6, never scored A's. He was just an average student. I always advised him to do well but I didn't push him. I was scared that it would be burden for him. One thing about my son, he never studied or do revisions at home! When you asked him to do so, his reply was "Enough of studying! I've studied at school". I didn't send him for tuition either but he had extra classes at school. Thanks to all the dedicated teachers at SRK St. Theresa Inobong.

All I wanted from him is to pass the UPSR exam. But he gives more than that! He scored 5A's! Congratulations to you my dear son!! Do not stop learning. Continue your good effort. My prayer will be always for you and also to your sister and brother.

What about the present he asked for?? He is no longer interested with the WII. He had changed his mind. This time he asked for a Piano! Aduii! mahal tu geng! Camana mo tunai permintaan dia ni??

But by the way, during the Anugerah Cemerlang ceremony, I won four lucky draw prizes. Ain't I'm lucky? hehehe

Breakfast at King Du - Part 2

I usually have my breakfast at King Du. I like their kon-lau-men.

But recently I had bad experienced. While eating my kon-lau-men, I noticed something shiny. When I extracted it, it was a wire brush [use to clean kitchen's utensil like pot]. So I called the towkay. He quickly removed my plate. I told him, I don't want a replacement coz I'm in a hurry going to work.

When I pay at the counter, I thought, he won't charged me for the mee or at least he gave me a discount. He still charged me for the mee. Goodness me! Not even an apology from him. He just said, "itu amoi cuci periuk tidak kasih bersih betul-betul bah" *#%&^#@*

After I paid, I didn't say a word. I just left. But I promised to myself, I won't ever go there again!

It was 15 minutes to 8am and I was running late.
Went for a quick breakfast at King Du.
Ordered Tea and Kui Pau Daging ;)

When it was time to pay, instead of calling the tauke, I went straight to his counter.
He was talking with another man. I heard the conversation.

Tauke : apalah....itu pun buli kalah 1-3
Man : ya bah! bagus kalo yang dia lawan tu kuat

Then I interrupted, "ai ya! Chelsea sudah kalah, apa lagi mau cakap. cepat kiralah tauke!"

Tauke : aik! kau pun tau Chelsea kalah? Kau sukung team apa?

Me : Saya MU!!

I paid my meal then off I ciao.....

"Glory! Glory United!"

I had the golden opportunity to attend this talk last Friday. Before this, I heard a lot about Dato' Sri Idris Jala, being a good speaker and yes I acknowledge it now - he is indeed!

George Phillips, an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phone the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said, "No, but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me"

Then the police dispatcher said, "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available"

George said, "okay". He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phone the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them". And he hung up.

Within five minutes, six police cars, a SWAT Team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Morale of the story - Don't mess with old people!

One post in a week is shameful! Blame it to the Facebook :) FB as people called it, is very addictive. There are a lot of games that I just couldn't resist LoL

Back to my post this week. Our office had our Annual Sport held on the 20th - 21st June 2009. Sabah became the host of this year and it meant - a lot of work to do!! But thank God, we did it successfully!

Island Hopping

My siblings and I and together with our families went for Islands-hopping yesterday. Tiring but the kids were enjoying themselves. Our first stop was at Sapi Island. There were many tourists and we were a little bit scared of the most talked Swine Flu.

At Sapi Island, we went for jungle trekking only. No mandi-manda yet. My brother told us, the best spot for mandi-manda is at Manukan Island.

The second stop was at Mamutik Island. We were thinking of going for the trekking but as we looked at the sky it was like going to rain. Hey peeps! don't judge the weather by looking at the clouds. It didn' rain ok!

Time for the Manukan Island! We reached there at noon and everybody was starving. Found a nice space and then makan time!

The kids couldn't wait to go for their swim. And they did have fun and some says - 'belum puas!!!' Well, hopefully next time we can stay overnight. And by the way, the whole trip was free of charge. Thanks to my brother who is working at Sabah Parks ;)

"Oh, I understand", I said. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the tea-cup".
