Majlis Hari Raya

29 October 2008 was the last day of Syawal month. Like I said in my previous posting, saya tidak sempat menziarahi rakan taulan semasa sambutan Aidilfitri. I missed all the rendangs and ketupat :(

Fortunately, our office organized Majlis Hari Raya for the staff. Apa lagi si Phil, turun padang dan melantak LoL. These are the only pictures I managed to take sebab kelam kabut mo makan bah! Tidak perlu describe lah bah kan ;)

Oh ya, I forgot to take picture of my colleague's (Lan) Mee Laksa. Fuyooo sedap betul oh! Saya makan sampai second round. Godoot bah saya ni! Saya sudah minta her recipe. Kalau ada masa, maybe saya try buat lain kali. Tunggu saya rajin dulu LoL

Luck on BBQ

We had a long weekends due to the Deepavali holiday which fall on Monday. But we didn't go anywhere coz it was wet, wet and wet weather! It kept on raining since Friday evening until Sunday. Then, I heard this conversations, between my youngest son and hubby.

Son : Pa, saya rindu makan 'linugu' (roasted) oh...mari kita buat BBQ..?
Hubby : Buli bah!
Son : Bila? Hari ini? (referring Saturday)
Hubby : (Jokingly) Kalau kena numbur, bisuk kita BBQ lah...
Son : Bah! You promised already ah..!
Aduiii...my son, dia ingat macam senang saja mo kena numbur!

But what happened next? Look for yourself :D

The winning ticket
tidak banyak, RM600 only, but more than enough to do some BBQ :)

The result

So, as promised to our son, we did the BBQ. But since it was raining the whole day on Sunday, we did it on Monday instead.

You've Been Pinked!

I've been pinked by my colleagues, Padhma from KL and Noorain from Melaka. Here it goes.

  • You've been Pinked!
  • October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
  • Hello, Pretty Lady! You have been hit. You are a pretty lady with a kind, warm and loving heart.
  • Once you have been hit, you have to hit as many pretty ladies you can think of.
  • Let them know they are pretty--both on the inside and the outside and that they are loved and cared for.
  • Tell them that no one wants to lose them. After all, they are ladies with kind, warm and loving hearts.

Dear ladies, if you are here and reading this, consider yourself been Pinked!

Nothing is Impossible

I received this from a colleague through e-mail.

When someone tells you that you can't do something...

Look around...

Consider all options...

Then GO for it!

Use all the things God gave you!

Be creative!

In the end, you will succeed and prove them wrong!

"Nothing is impossible, if your heart is willing"

Kuih Raya Lagi

Another kuih raya for me. Last Friday, when we returned to work after raya holidays, my colleague brought a few traditional kuih raya for me to try. Kuih jala, sapit, makmur, cincin, baulu and many more which I couldn't figure its name. Thank you so much friend!

Aidilfitri Greetings

First and foremost, I would like to wish everyone 'Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri' and enjoy the Syawal month. Even though I didn't go anywhere during the two days holidays, but I am sure, there will be more open houses during the whole festive month.

And as usual, I never miss ordering raya cookies from colleagues and friends. This year, I ordered many compared to previous year. Bah! ada bonus kan LoL.

Nyum-nyum and Almond London

Pineapple tart (harder), Maruku, Dried Popia, Kuih Batang Buruk

Pineapple tart (softer), Rice biscuits & Kuih Perancis - my favourite!

Besides the pictures above, I also ordered Kuih Sapit and Kuih Jala, my old time kuih traditional favourites. I also had Double Chocolate and Chocolate Mint cookies but were finished even before Raya by my children :) Sedappp bah!

I Feel So Lucky!

Last Friday, I went to the bank at Lido to do some transactions (bayar hutang hehe) . I was lucky enough there were only a few customers so I did my business very fast. So, killing the time, I go and check what Lido has to offer. I saw the STC 4D outlet. Feeling lucky that day, I thought why don't I give it a try.

At the counter:

Me : Could you please give me 4D lucky pick?
Salesgirl : How much?
Me : Erm...RM5.00

She printed and gave it to me. I paid and turned away. When I checked the ticket, she gave me ONE number with 5 bets. Oh no! What I wanted was FIVE numbers with 1 bet each. Heck. I didn't want to queue up again. I just left the outlet.

I checked the result online. And guess what? I won! I won! hehehe. It was only a consolation prize but do the calculation please. RM60 x 5 bets? Yes! You calculated it right. I won RM300.00!

I haven't collected my prize yet. Hopefully, they don't change the result :) But so far, there is no announcement for correction.
