Kursus Modal Insan Cemerlang

Before the Tenom trip, I attended two-day course as above. Here are some pictures of my colleagues ;)

Encik Azman Salleh our facilitator

Good thing about attending kursus is - makan time!

During the course, we were divided into five groups and were asked to do a project based on instructions as below:
  • Suatu benda yang boleh jadi besar, boleh jadi kecil
  • Lehernya panjang
  • Paruhnya kuat
  • Matanya cantik
  • Mempunyai dua kaki yang kuat
  • Mempunyai dua tangan yang kecil
  • Boleh berenang
  • Boleh terbang
We were actually confused by the instructions ;) but we were not allowed to ask questions. Nevertheless, we managed to finish our project within 30 minutes given. Here are the outcome:

Those were the outcome when the instructions were so brief and not allowed to ask anything. That's what we called mis-communication.

Let it Go!

"Let it go, Xander! Uncle is right behind you. You must try and trust him!"

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you you need to...
Let it go!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pain, then you need to...
Let it go!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, see your worth, then you need to...
Let it go! (please!!)

If someone has angered you, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you have a bad attitude, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship, then you need to...
Let it go!

If you are feeling stressed and depressed, then you need to...
Let it go!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling and God is saying, "Take your hands off, of it" then you need to...
Let it go!

Let the past be the past
Forget the former things
God is always doing something new
Let it go!

I'm Still Around...

It's been quite a while I didn't update my blog. I've been busy (I think!) hehehe. But I wanted to share an e-mail which I received from a friend but I'm sure it was taken from Yahoo groups.

One big happy family shared a broken bed to sleep. But the best thing is, there is still room for their dog and cat! Water pouring from their roof but look at them - a smile on their face! Simply amazing!

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

Keep smiling always ;)

Ex-Michaelians Reunion Party

Ex-Michaelians organized a reunion dinner at Atlantis Restaurant last November 7th, 2008. I thought the reunion was open to all ex-students of St Michael Secondary School irregardless which year you attended this school. I only found out that it was actually the reunion of Class 5AII 1985 after reading the Borneo Post yesterday. Mine was 1983 :)

Greg, if you are reading this, why don't you organize ours. I support you all the way :)

Looking at the first picture at the top, I saw Mdm Rose Jianul, my History teacher in Form 3. Ms Clarice Hee, probably the sister of my classmate, Doris Hee. Mdm Christina Maluda, my Geography teacher in Form 3. And Mdm Clementina Hee, but I forgot what subject she taught.

The rest of the pictures. Some faces I familiar but many I don't :) I thought I saw Dolores, but I don't actually sure.

Even though I didn't go to this reunion but my hubby was there. His band 'Salapa' was entertaining the crowds. In fact all the 'Salapa' band members were ex-Michaelians too :)

Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang

I attended SK St Theresa Inobong 'Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang' last Wednesday at ICCC Hall Inobong.

My niece Eva Jane, was chosen as the best student. She also scored 5As in her 2008 UPSR I think for the first time in many years, St Theresa School achieved the best result this year, where 6 students scored straight A's and 4 students scored 4As and 1B. Congratulations to all the students and also to the teachers.

Elvie Glen, Eva's youngest sister, performed Sumazau (Kadazan's Traditional Dance). We were so amazed to watch them sumazau. According to their teacher, they only practised for a week.

My nephew Georges (right), with his friend Carter (left) also performed the sumazau. They are Year 2 students. I'll upload the Sumazau dance in my next post.

Happy Anniversary to Rev. Fr. Thomas Makajil

Today is the 30th Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Thomas Makajil. But he celebrated the big occasion with us last week. He celebrated a Mass at Sacred Heart Church Inobong, together with Sandakan Diocese Bishop Julius Dusin, Mgr. Primus Jouil, Fr. Marcellinus Pongking and Fr. Michael Modoit.

Rev. Fr. Thomas is now serving at St. Mary's Church, Sandakan.

The banner telling us all...

Rev. Fr. Thomas giving his speech after the Mass. Something about "ogumu oh tomoton, tapi okuudi oh mongomot"

We had fellowship after that at Inobong Hall. Rev. Fr. Alex Sipanul joined us here

A candid picture of Fr. Thomas on his way to the hall from the church

All Souls' Day

We celebrated All Souls' Day yesterday, Nov 2nd. For the first time, the priest visited the new graveyard at Lampaki. The blessing started at 1pm then we proceeded to the old graveyard near Sacred Heart Church Inobong.

Visiting the graveyards means bringing some flowers and candles. So I made a trip to florists in Donggongon last Saturday. And as expected, flowers were sold out! Fortunately, one florist ordered more flowers but it can only be delivered in the evening. So I waited! I had to, if not then I won't get any flowers.

The delivery came at 4pm. Luckily, I booked earlier because, when I came back to the florist, there were many people queuing up. I got myself three bundles but the sad news was, I have to arrange the flowers by myself as the florist was so busy - they can't help! Oh my!

With the help of my hubby, here are the outcome:

This one is for Tony, my hubby's older brother who died at a very young age

For my hubby's grandma (his mom's side)

For my grandma (mom's side)

For my mother in law

For my father in law

and for my brother in law, Vivian

May Their Souls Rest in Peace, Amen.

Hubby : Buli bah!
Son : Bila? Hari ini? (referring Saturday)
Hubby : (Jokingly) Kalau kena numbur, bisuk kita BBQ lah...
Son : Bah! You promised already ah..!
